I got very dizzy and fell down after not eating for 12 hours, is that normal ?

I ate at 3.am and, went to bed .I woke up and deided to wash my hair before I ate, but at around 3.00 pm , while I was washing my hair. I got really nauseous, my vision got blurry , i got dizzy and i fell down (but i was still consious) . I figured, it may be low blood sugar so i had a teaspoon of sugar and then It was better. Its never happened to me before and i wasn't even that hungry before i started washing my hair, is that normal ? i'm 19 and i don't think i have diabetes
Answer:
I've gone more than 12 hours without eating and I was fine...did you drink water during those 12 hours? I suggest you call your doctor and at least tell him what happened; he'll decide whether or not to have you go to his/her office and get you checked out. You might regret it later if you don't do anything about it now so why not just get it checked out.
Really now! What do YOU think?
You should get a checkup, and you should eat at least breakfast or lunch by 3pm everyday!
Low iron causes dizziness and is common in teenages. Vitamins are a good idea at your age.
Definately get a checkup, grab some iron and folate tablets and eat on at regular intervals.
i don't really know, but maybe you should eat.it will help.
Some vertigo and/or nausea is normal after 12 hours. But not to the extent that you describe. Now, it could be that you were in bed a little too long and that messed up your blood circulation. But if a little sugar stabilized you, I'm tempted to suggest diabetes or hypoglycemia. So get that checked: Diabetes can turn up in the darndest places.
Take a teaspoon of sugar once a week, then go to your docter, and try eating! Don't starve your self lol
you would have had low sugar, low blood pressure and dehydration, use the common sense god gave you and EAT.

I got two vaccined yesterday and now i fell like i have a fever, is this normal?

Hepatitis A and meningitis vaccine
Answer:
sometimes it is normal to get flu like symptoms after vaccines! Usually the person feels under the weather for about 3 or 4days at the longest...but if you get a really high temp %26gt;101 call the doctor, cause something else might be going on!!
Yes - I had mild flu symptoms after I had my Hep shot. It is ok.
yes this is very normal just drink plenty of water
Yes This is a normal side affect. you may even get a little of the virus, The vaccine is a virus that is put into your blood stream and memory cells in your body memorize what the virus cell looks like so that in the future if you actually get the full virus your body identifies it and kills it immediately.

I got sunburned really bad?

Now I'm officially a REDNECK! YEAH! How long before my red neck will disappear or turn into a tan neck?
Answer:
cold water is the best first aid when you burn yourself - 20 minutes under the tap is ideal. NEVER ice or vinegar or milk or butter or green tea or mustard or toothpaste or sunscreen or semen or vaseline or tomatoes or vanilla extract or yogurt or sour cream or egg white or lavender oil or cocoa butter or salt or tea bags or potato or shaving cream or olive oil or baking soda or banana peel or petroleum jelly or whipped cream or avocado or bacon grease or corn starch or tumeric or lemon juice or curd- not until the skin is fully healed!alcohol might help with the pain but it is a serious risk as it will dehydrate you - so don't drink any. ibuprofen or aspirin will help but larger burns are often accompanied by stomach ulcers, so tylenol/panadol is best for pain if you are gonna tough it out. drink plenty of water or energy drinks that don't have caffeine (gatorade) i would advise that you cover the burnt area with sterile paraffin wax or aqueous cream bp. (check the links below and see if you can find a local equivalent). wash the burn and reapply every 4-6 hours - cover with cling wrap if you wish to cover with clothes - this will stop your clothes getting covered with paraffin and maintains the burn.cling wrap alone is ok if you can't get hold of any paraffin. it also acts as a protective artificial skin - helping retain moisture and protect from further damage and pain. cling wrap is cheap and clean off the roll. in Australia ambulances often use this when someone has been burnt. - please note that cling wrap isn't always practical, like on your face.the paraffin imitates the natural oils, creating a seal stopping water leaving the body and reduces pain by protecting sensitised nerves. both of these factors improve healing - good stuff stays in, bad stays out - that is one job of healthy skin. aloe is good coz it remoisturises but that moisture can be quickly lost as the skin can't contain fluids. so put aloe on, and then the paraffin on over the top. if there is broken skin leave out the aloe - just paraffin.http://www.doorone.com.au/xgs-aqueous_cr...http://www.pharmacyonline.com.au/david-c...hope this helps - let me know how you go and what similar brands/alternatives are available in your area email if you still have questions - send photos feedingthedogcustard@hotmail.c...finally if you are really worried go to a hospital that has a burns unit or plastic surgeons. serious sunburn i.e. blisters (and all other burns) should be seen by a burns trained doctor or nurse.
The red will start to fade in a few days. Make sure to use some Aloe Vera on the burn. It will keep moisture on the skin, and take the sting %26 reddness out faster.
Most likely 3 days. Drink lots of water. Take a bunch of showers.
If you cut soda out and drink green tea you won't tan as much next time. Green Tea supports the production of melanin, the skin's own natural sunburn protection. Green Tea also helps reduce the risk of sunburn. Always make sure you wear a good sunblock if you are prone to burning. Aloe is great for sunburns.Republicoftea.com has some super options for green tea.
at least three days! I SUGGEST ALOE VERA **Might want to freeze it for max comfort (don't freeze rock though)**
HAHA YEAH!! You will be a redneck for a few days... depending on your skin type. In about a week it might start peeling. I suggest some Vitamin E cream to help the burn in the meantime.
There is also an over the counter skin cream called Eucerin. It's great for sunburn.
aloe vera gel, pure and simple, it takes away the sting and helps to prevent peeling
I always use Banana Boat Aloe Vera Gel! It works a dream cause its really cool, especially if u put it in the fridge when ur not using it, it smells good and it takes the sting out of ur sunburn! :)
neosporen - will sooth and promote healingice - will relieve the pain at once

I got sunburn HELP!?

i got sunburn and there are many blisters and when i apply aloe it turns to a blue color im not sure why this is happening help!
Answer:
ok, if you have many blisters than you have a partial thickness burn, you need medical treatment - excision and i would hope the use of a product called biobrane! go to a hospital, ask for this procedure if they can't or won't go to another hospital - if you live in the cities i have listed below go to the hospitals with burns units! the aloe is blue because thats its colour and it isn't being absorbed into your skin - too much damage, cover with cling wrap and go to a burns unit! cold water is the best first aid, never ice this will also cause further damage. never milk screw wikipedia they don't know what i do!(plus a bunch of good doctors)ok if you push on the burnt area and the colour disappears and then returns quickly (ie flushed to pale and quickly back to flushed) then you should be fine - i wouldn't want to diagnose over the net tho. this is a balnching test it tested whether you still have blood flow and capillary refilling. if there is no change or it takes more than 3-5 seconds for colour to return (compare to you fingernails as far as speed and colour is concerned) then the answer is go to a doctor! one whop knows burns or can talk to someone who knows burns!a product called burn aid is also good if you can find itnever put milk or yogurt or any food substance as this may reduce pain but it increases chances of infection.if you have blisters cover your burn with cling wrap then a cool towel and go to a hospital that has a burns unit
Adelaide - royal Adelaide hospital
Perth - royal Perth (i think)
Melbourne - prince Alfred
sorry thats all the hospitals i knowif it isn't that bad put on pure aloe vera (thanks everyone for drumming that in) but then as soon as you put on so much that your skin isn't absorbing all of the aloe cover your burn with paraffin wax or aqueous cream (paraffin wax and glycerine). the aloe will help re hydrate and the paraffin simulates the protecting layer of skin and oils your body normally produces (obviously it isn't in the case of a burn as the skin is damaged). this seals in fluids and moisture and protects your skin and relives the pain of wind and the other that really hurt because your skin is sensitised and unprotected. reapply the paraffin and aloe every 4-6hours and stay well hydrated. replacing lost water and salts is important. you may experience heart burn if you have a large area burnt = see a doctor who knows burnsso to sum up - only cold water -no ice - no oils - no hot water - nothing organic (milk or anything)
blisters equals partial thickness burn (second degree) which means you should prolly see a burns doctor (as for a consult/referral)
moisturise your skin and seal that moisture in!
drink water or power aide or gatoraide or similarthe test for a doctor knowing about burns is agreeing with this post or holding a textbook entitled 'total burn care'
aloe is blue it's normal...lol
If it is blistering you need to go to doc or er, you have a more severe burn, than a usual light sunburn..
go to a doctor
PUT VASILINE ON IT!!! REALLY IT DOES HELP!!
Because of the blisters, go to your dr. to get a perscription lotion.
There is no immediate cure for sunburns, but the pain can be relieved by hydrating the skin. This is done by applying products containing aloe, aloe with Lidocane, or vitamin E. Drinking fluids can aid in hydration, and eating high protein foods will assist tissue repair. Analgesics such as acetaminophen (i.e. Tylenol) or ibuprofen (i.e. Advil) can also reduce pain. One method to treatment involves applying a clean washcloth soaked with cool milk like a cold compress, since the lactic acid will help reduce inflammation and the cool towel will soothe the pain.Blistered skin, with or without open sores, should heal on its own. As with any other open skin wound, it is best to avoid lotions or other directly applied ointments. However, antibacterial solutions and gauze can prevent skin infections. The best treatment for most sunburns is time. Given a few weeks, they will heal. Overall, the most important aspect of sunburn care is to avoid the sun while healing, and to take precautions to prevent future burns.
gosh you must be burned really bad. i would just keep putting the aloe on because eventually it will help it. noxema helps too.
What I use that really works for quickly getting rid of the sunburn is Palmer's Cocoa Butter. But not the stuff in a bottle. It's more like a wax that comes in a jar. It's the same stuff my tattoo artist told me to put on my tattoo. So I imagine that it's great for healing skin and keeping it from drying out.I put that on my sunburn and the redness is gone in a couple days. Good luck with it!
Noxema takes away the sting, take advil for the swelling and pain, drinks lots of water
aloe every few hours and take something for pain
Use Aloe Vera.
If you have an Aloe Vera plant, cut off a piece of it and rub it against your sunburnt area. ORIf you don't have an aloe vera plant, you can go to any kind of store and find various products to help your sunburn. :)
hmmm. this is weird, did u ask youre mom or dad or something, id say go to the doctors
the best thing is the alovera plant. it is a cactus and will help your sunburn. i know this for sure. take one leave and split it , then rub the juice on your sunburn. use as needed. it works.
You may want to go see a doc if it is that bad. They have things that will help, just gotta sit through the lecture. Sunburn sucks and unfortunately there are no quick fixes. I feel for you.
ow... hope u feel better
first, i dont really know why ur aloe turns blue, it might just be that is how it works... i dont think you realy need to worry about it though
since u do have blistering though, it is a first degree burn, so u may POSSIBLY need medical attention... but only if u cant stand it for another second and it burns/hurts like no other
here are some things you could do to help it though:-Most importantly, avoid repeated exposure to the sun or
solarium.
-Apply cold compresses or immerse the affected area in
cool water.
-Calamine lotion may be applied to itchy areas.
-Apply a moisturising cream or lotion to the affected areas;
however, you should avoid salves or butter.
-Drink plenty of water, but avoid alcohol which can dehydrate
the skin even further.
-If blistering occurs, lightly bandage or cover with gauze to
prevent infection. Do not break the blisters as this will slow
the healing process and increase the risk of infection. When
the blisters break and the skin peels you can remove dried
-fragments and apply an antiseptic ointment or
hydrocortisone cream to the skin beneath.
-In cases of severe pain or discomfort, aspirin (but not in
children under the age of 12), paracetamol or pain relief
such as ibuprofen may be taken.
-A hot shower immediately after mild sunburn can bring
about peeling sooner and rid you quickly of discomfort.
-Vitamins taken internally or applied.
be sure that if the sunburn blisters are accompanied by chills, fever, nausea or vomiting. Medical attention is needed to prevent dehydration and infectionjust again to make sure to stay out of sun... just wait a couple days, catch up on some z's or do something that doesnt expose that part of the body to the sun...
wut i did: stay inside and lay on something SOFT! and watch tv
be lazy for a couple days
One time i got sun burnt so bad, I could barely move It hurt so bad. the blisters came almost right away. My mother told me about this old fashioned remedy that surprisingly worked. You take vinegar and milk and rub it on your skin all over the burn. Smells kind of gross but i got a good nights sleep. Good luck and hope this works for you.

I got stung really bad on my arm, the bug was not a normal wasp. It was red, black, and HUGE! What was it?

i was out in my barn, and my barn is in the middle of a field. It was at about 2:30pm. Could the bug possibly have been a velvet ant? my arm has been swelling for a 2 days now. I need to know if I have to take any medicines for it. The bug was about 1 inch long. It was about as big as a hornet but it's sting was much more powerful I think.
Answer:
I would see the doctor. There's really no way for anybody to know what bug it was without actually seeing it. Maybe if you go to your doctor he/she will be able to figure out what type of bug it is and give you something to treat the swelling. It's possible it was a Pompilidae wasp - they are black with red wings and they are quite large, the sting is painful as well. Good Luck.
see a doctor.
no matter what it was, see a doctor now!
Red Wasp...very bad...their stings are painful and terrible. You MIGHT want to take something for allergies...it'll make you sleepy but it'll help. Also get some ice on that bite.
If it is still swelling tomorrow call your doctor.
with that kind of swelling you need treatment, see a doctor as soon as possible.
It could have been an alien. Have you been having chest pains and sudden cravings for large quantities for meat?
maby its a locust ? im not sure go to a doctor to be safe good luck
can you find one to catch and take to Dr. with you =if not don't fret ,but go to Dr anyway ,especially with the swelling
Yup, see a doctor!The Ol' Sasquatch 脺
yellowjacket...ER NOW!!!!!

I got stung by bee on my lip ?!?!?!?

i just got stung on the lower lip by a bee when i was running back home . What is the first thing that i should do to stop the swelling ?
Answer:
take a dose of Benadryl. Then apply some meat tenderizer to your lip (add a dab of water to make it into a paste) (don't swallow it - ugh). Then ice the area (not directly - use a washcloth to wrap it). If you have breathing problems (allergic reaction), call 911.
It is going to swell.Put meat tenderizer on it and take some benedryl. If you start to feel dizzy, light headed, can't breathe, or get hives, go to the nearest emergency room, don't wait for an ambulance. Good luck!
My four year old nephew got stung by a bee also on his lip a week ago. The only thing we did was put ice on it, and two days later he got stung again on his hand and didn't put anything on it. We just gave him tylenol. He didn't have any swelling or anything.
Sting-kill works immediately if you can find it, if not use a paste made of meat tenderizer and a little water.
This is going to sound strange, but one rememdy is to hold a penny on your lip, the copper in the penny will help with the soreness and swelling.
Apply toothpaste on it. It will help with the swelling and may even draw the stinger out if it is still in your lip. Dampened tobacco works too, but if you are against smoking, then the toothpaste is probably your best bet!

I got stung by a yellow jacket yesterday. Will anything happen after what happened? Please read my details.?

I has with my real mom (my parents got a devorce). I was picking some flowers for a kid who died in a car crash, I was making a little arangement of flowers out the door of my dads office. There is a pipe next to a door, a family of yallow jackets have a nest in there. The yallow jackets smelt the flower, about 4 or 3 of them came out, 1 stung me behind my knee. I started to cry (This is my first time getting stung), my mom scrached it so the stinger could not go in any more, she pulled it out, and sucked the stung on my leg. Then I went in my dads building, they put some stuff on it to clean it they made me drink some water, and then they put water on it. I calmed down. That night I started to have sharp pains ounce in a while around the sting and on the sting. This morning Im having pains in my knee and still some around and on the sting. What should I do?
Answer:
I think the worst part is over, though it may still be hurting you.
Just don't worry, nothing will happen to you now. Take NSAID like diclofenac or ibuprofen to reduce swelling %26 pain. That's all.
Good luck!
have your mom take you to the dr cause this could be an allergic reaction you need to see the dr and let him or her be the judge of how to best take care of it . good luck dear .
Probably the tiny amount of venom is just working its way through your system, and your body is reacting to it, but not in a severe manner. You are probably not allergic to the venom. If the symptoms get much worse, though, go to the doctor.
The only danger is if you're allergic to bee stings. If not, you'll be fine. Yellow jacket stings are painful.

I got stung by a bumble bee 2 days ago, is it normal for it to itch really bad?

Answer:
Yes, bites and stings stimulate histamines that actually create the itch. Try either a topical or oral anti-histamine (Benadryl, for example) for some relief.
first and formost, did you remove the stinger? yes,its normal, however,if its swollen and hot or you have trouble breathing you may be allergic to bee stings, should this happen see a doctor.
yes. itching is an allergic reaction your skin is having to it. mix water and baking soda and put it on the sting and let it dry. or callamine lotion to stop the itching. if it gets any worse than now, you should see a doctor.

I got stung by a bee?

I dont have the stinger in me but he tried to sting me like 3 times. heres the story, and p.s. Im a nature friendly person.i learned my lesson.Okay so i was gonna go swimming and i seen a bee, not the fuzzy bumblebees but a hard cover, and i was gonna save it and igot it with the net. all of a sudden it buzzed on my ear then my head! my sister told me it was on my head, and im only 13 so i freaked out, i didnt know waht to do so i went under water thinking it would leave me alone and go in the water, i felt my head and it was still there i took out my hair cuz it was in a ponytail and i shook it then i got out and my sister went to get my mom and i was crying (dont call me wimpy cuz im sure U cried before) and then she said my head had red spots and then she didnt see the stinger..Its been like an hour or two. how long will it take to leave
Answer:
You should put an onion on it. The stinger will eventually run out of venom anyhow.
sorry
Use Ban deorderant for the bite.
OUCH!
Wow i got stung in the neck yesterday.. im 19 and its like the 100th time ever i always put bleach on it.. yeah it sounds a little odd but it helps and it goes away in about an hour.
im terribly sorry to hear that
what you have is probably hives due to bee sting because they mess with histamines in your body best bet is to put ice and get an antihismine lotion on the are such as hydrocotosone cream
I'd give it about 2 days and then go to the doctor if it's no better
if your symptoms get worse go sooner
by the way i am TERRIFIED and i mean TERRIFIED of Bees, and wasps i keep a can of wasp killer handy at all times in the house because i'm so terrified. once i was with my friend in a restaurant and it was my birthday (September 17th right in the height of wasp season) and there was a wasp IN MY POCKET i'm like eek there's a wasp in my pocket. I had my writing stuff with me and it flew off and landed on the window and my friend managed to splat it on the window... *shudder* I hate the darned things and i'm 24
I've only ever been stung once and i was 7 ever since then i've tried to avoid them cos my finger was really swollen i put vinegar on it and it helped
Meat tenderizer on the sting sites will help get the stinger out. If they are out already, ice on the site will help the swelling. Benadryl or another antihistamine that your mom can get for you will help. Please make sure that if you take any medication that your mother gives it to you and it is the correct dose. Otherwise, all you can do is wait it out--it will get better--you probably won't even notice it when you wake up in the morning.
Well i have learned that the thing that works the best is cover up you can just put a little on in the morning and nobody will ever notice and sorry i hope i gets better!!

I got stung by a bee 2day on my arm it swole up then there waz a blak spot on my arm wats goin on?

Answer:
Whatever you do, make sure you got the stinger out. Do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT allow the stinger to stay in your skin for "days" as another poster stated. The reason bees die after stinging you is because their entire abdomen is removed from their bodies along w/ the stinger. Although the bee is dead, the abdomen continues to pump the poison into your body. You really need to be sure the stinger is gone. You can remove it with a pair of tweezers. If you're nervous, ask a family member to help you.
Apply a hydrocortisone cream to the area to help with the swelling and use ice packs as needed.
You should be able to visually see the stinger, it will look like a cactus needle, only smaller.
Did you remove the stinger? That might be what the black spot is.
Is it possible that the black spot on your arm is the bees stinger stuck in your arm? If it is, you need to remove it but DONT squeeze it as that could release more of the bees poison into your arm and cause bigger reaction than swelling. If you can't get it out easily by pulling, use a drawing sav (found at the drugstore) on a band-aid. It should pull it out within a few days. If swelling gets worse, or you experience any changes (for the worse) go to your local emergency room. Feel better.

I got stung by 8 wasps bout an hour ago and still hurts BAD.Best way to ease pain?

Answer:
Mix baking soda and water (make a paste) put the paste on your bites. That will stop the pain. works for everyone I know. It's the best. If you have swelling, you might want to be checked out at the hospital or Drs office. Just in case of being allergic to bees. Hope this helps. Please try the baking soda. You'll feel much better.
Try applying a mild acid like fruit juice (lemon juice) or vinegar.
go / to er /NOW!
you can always take tylonol or advil. Try to put ice packs on the places you got stung, that will either bring down the swelling or the pain. and if it starts to itch put on some itch cream, that may also help the pain go away
you need anti-biotic and see a doctor you might be allergic
fist the mister
antibiotics are not needed, only if you develop a cellulitis from the bites
Use ice and ibuprofen.
You can also take benedryl for the swelling/itching.
Ice to reduce the swelling, and put a washrag dipped in vinegar on it. - no need to go to the doctor unless you have trouble breathing or your tongue starts to swell. - Take some benedryl if it continues to get larger and more uncomfortable, and it will also make you sleepy.
Sting sites should be treated with an antiseptic to stop any possible infection. Cool compresses can help relieve pain and swelling. Other common home remedies include applying cigarette tobacco, crushed aspirin, or meat tenderizer. These methods are not necessarily endorsed, just recognized. If itching becomes a problem, an anti-itch cream will help. Scratching a sting can open up the skin and allow a secondary infection to get started. If you experience multiple stings or know that you have had systemic or more severe reactions to stings, watch for more serious signs like difficulty in breathing, dizziness, nausea or hives. These symptoms may require immediate medical attention.

I got soap in my eye...?

Well last night, I was just washing my face when I got some soap in my eye... I read the label thing and t said flush with water, already kinew it, but I did that for about 20-40 minutes ( wasnt looking at clock ). I finally just went to sleep with my eye on top of a pillow because that didnt hurt as much. It felt like something in the bottom right of my eye. Now, I woke up this morning and my eye ( kinda gross ) had some crust in it which was like really really hard to get out. I see perfectly with my eye and everything, just my eye is a little red ( but people cant notice it ) and its a little sore and sensitive.Could anything be wrong. Did I do everything right?
Answer:
Think you will be ok...though, I have gotten soap in my eyes before, I have never had this happen as you describe..Maybe it was the soap you use?..In the future, I would be careful and rinse my face of the soap before opening my eyes...
I do believe you will be okay, since you can see...Just my opinion.but, it may be sore for about a day...maybe two..however, if it is sore after about 12 hours..I would call an opthomologist...Just to be on the safe side..One of their nurses can tell you for sure if you have a problem.Wish you the best of luck!...Watch out for the Soap Monsters Though!
it will be ok
Sounds like your eye is still trying to get rid of the soap or other debris. If the redness continues through today I'd see an eye doctor (opthomologist) and check that there's nothing more seriously wrong. It could also be an allergic reaction. But in either case the best thing to do is to leave your eye alone and not to rub at it (hard to do, I know!). Good luck!
Our eyes are sensitive to any foreign substances, you did what you were supposed to. It could be that you have pink eye if you woke up with crust on your eye, wash your hands carefully and if you used a towel to dry your face, don't spread the infection to the other eye or to other family members just put it in the dirty clothes bin.Check with your doctor if it gets worse or last for a more then two days. They can give you some eye solution or ointment for it if it is pink eye. You will be ok, so don't worry too much about it. Hope you feel better!
It should be OK, you can use some eye drops to keep it moist and wear sunglasses when outdoors...it's just a little sesitive. Will probably be better tomorrow.
visene it helps

I got second degree burns what is the best and fastest way to heal the wounds?

I was standing next to a camp fire when someone decided to put some gas on it. I got burned on my legs with 2 blisters however the blisters are now popped what is the best way to heal them fast and without scaring. i have been putting neosporen on it and taking motrin. any advice from anyone
Answer:
Conventional Burn Treatments Treatment options are directly dependant upon the severity of a burn. First-degree burns and small second-degree burns may be self-treated with applications of cold water for a minimum duration of 10 minutes. Afflicted areas of skin, in the severest of minor burns, are usually
*covered with both a sterile dressing and
*various "topical corticosteroids or anti-infective ointments." Medical attention is required when there is an
accompanied blistering.
However, with attentive treatment and routine wound care, minor burns usually heal on their own within 2 weeks.
Conversely, severe burns, including chemical and electrical burns, require immediate medical attention. A third-degree burn that affects all layers of the skin may require surgical intervention. Skin grafts and vascular or reconstructive surgery is probable.
Severe burns are also treated with
*antimicrobial drugs, such as
!!silver sulfadiazine!!
/and hydrolyzed collagen,
to prevent skin and systemic infections.
Supplements helpful for Burn
Vitamin C
Vitamin C supplementation enhances immune function and promotes wound healing (2). In a clinical study, 37 burn patients were randomly divided into ascorbic acid and control groups. The patients who were treated with high-dose ascorbic acid experienced significantly reduced resuscitation fluid volume requirements, severity of respiratory dysfunction, and wound edema (3).
Arginine
Supplementation with the amino acid arginine has been shown to increase the amount of reparative collagen during the wound healing process (4). One study has even demonstrated a successful recovery of burn patients with arginine treatment (5).
Glutamine
Glutamine amino acid levels are often low in burn patients (6). Supplementation with glutamine can produce clinical improvement in burn patients (7).
Zinc
Zinc is an important component of our immune and enzyme systems, and also aids in wound healing and tissue growth (8). Zinc serum levels are often low in burn patients. Topical application of zinc has been found to enhance wound healing (9). However, supplementation with excess zinc can inhibit wound healing.
Aloe Vera %26lt;%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;------------!!!
Aloe vera is a succulent plant, which yields potent healing properties. Studies show that aloe vera leaf gel is an effective burn and wound healing agent (10-12). Aloe can be applied directly on the wound in topical treatments, or be administered via ingestion for not only wounds, but also gastrointestinal ulcers (13).
Bromelain
Bromelain, a protein-digesting enzyme complex derived from pineapple, can be helpful in healing burns and chronic wounds. It may also assist in the degradation of scar tissue in certain wounds (14).
jeb
Neosporin is ok, but to keep the scarring down, use vitamin E.
Lanicane. It comes in a spray, as your pharmicist. Dont put the neosprine on the open burn, the skin needs to breathe, and when you put that stuff on there it prolongs the healing because the wound is unable to scab. The Lanicane is touchless and painless. Good for sunburns too.
Neosporin will not hurt but it won't aid much in the healing process. For that, I suggest you get some Silvadene cream, use that and keep the wound covered until it is healed.
if they are second degree burns you must to to the ER and get checked out. If you dont you could use pure aloe on the blisters, but if it is REAL BAD go to the ER.
You need to keep the area clean and dry using a sterile dry covering, which you probably don't have. I suggest you go to the Emergency Room.
First who ever put gasoline on the fire should be taken by the group and explain what can happened when you do foolish like they did. your burn sounds like it was just a small.one do you know about the theory of 9st short answer to the 9st is that your body is divided in to portions using 9 so you can measure what percent of your body has sub stain the trauma .It sound like you might have some knowledge about burns because spoke of the blisters and they have burst yet. thats good .the main thing on the healing side is toi keep the area clean if you put any cream on the site be sure to use silver dine.if you choose not to..Keep your bandage wet next to the burn aera then rap another over that to guard your first bandage leave the bandage on for about 2 days before you attempt to remove %26 change it being careful as you remove it you might want to mostin the old one then change ever 2 days remembering to keep burn part protected each time you change the bandage you can check and see what improvements are being made and don't forget to put silver dine on the burnt area keep it clean so no can get set up.Oh yea the person who put the gasoline on the fire don.t ask him to go on anymore of your outings.Good Luck
cold water is the best first aid when you burn yourself - 20 minutes under the tap is ideal. NEVER ice or vinegar or milk or butter or mustard or toothpaste or sunscreen or semen or vaseline or tomatoes or vanilla extract or yogurt or sour cream or egg white or lavender oil or cocoa butter - not until the skin is fully healed! ignore anyone who advises any of these!i would advise that you cover the burnt area with sterile paraffin wax or aqueous cream bp. (check the links below and see if you can find a local equivalent)cover the burnt area in paraffin wax after cleaning and removing any burst blisters - these are just sites of infection and will take longer to heal. wash and reapply every 4-6 hours - cover with cling wrap if you wish to cover with clothes - this will stop your clothes getting covered with paraffin and maintains the burn.cling wrap alone is ok if you can't get hold of any paraffin. it also acts as a protective artificial skin - helping retain moisture and protect from further damage and pain. cling wrap is cheap and clean off the roll. in Australia ambulances often use this when someone has been burnt.paraffin creates a seal stopping water leaving the body and reduces pain as it protects sensitised nerves. the paraffin imitates the natural oils secreted by the skin. skin cells are better able to multiply and regenerate with this treatment. pain is also helped. make sure you buy plenty of this paraffin - as the burn heals switch to aqueous cream bp.(aqueous cream has a bunch of paraffin in it plus some moisturisers - look out for stuff that also contains sorbolene or glycerine as these help also). following this regime definitely will help your sunburn heal faster and peel less. aloe is good coz it remoisturises but that moisture can be quickly lost as the skin can't contain fluids- this is a function of healthy skin.so put aloe on, and then the paraffin on over the top as long as there is no broken skin this works great. if there is broken skin leave out the aloe - just paraffin.long term treatment to prevent scarring or loss of function due to contractures(as skin heals it can tighten reducing how much you can move - a skin graft is necessary to repair this). daily moisturiser, daily stretches - talk to a physio, pressure bandages like tubigrip, massaging the scar. this all reduce/flatten the scar and minimise the need for further treatment/surgery. http://www.doorone.com.au/xgs-aqueous_cr...http://www.pharmacyonline.com.au/david-c...hope this helps - let me know how you go and what similar brands/alternatives are available in your area email if you still have questions - send photos

I got run over this morning, i had a row with my mom and i am not saying, what it was about.?

the car was only going 10 - 20mph, the soles on my trainers came away and i slipped and lost by balance, the car didn't barely touch me, lucky enough the lady saw me otherwise i could of been killed. i only have minor injuries, my hip and back hurts like hell, the leg has scraps and grazes all the way down it, so does my arm, i've been feeling drowsey all day as well. i cleaned most of the blood from the wound's myself, i've my folks what happened and their not bothered. if i have to go to casualty, how do i get there, cos i am not gonna call an ambulance. my parents are to be completly whipped out of my life, i will never do anything for them again after this, they can root in hell as far as i am concerned. if a young boy racers had of hit me, i would now be dead. has anyone else been knocked over or run down.
Answer:
you're so full of it. i'm not sure what a feck is, but i think the first guy has the right idea.
Not wishing to be flippant nor do I wish to appear unconcerned for you predicament but
Grow the feck up !
You probably have concussion and you need x-rays incase you have broken anything. You should not delay, but get to the hospital any way you can. Ask a neighbor to take you. Sorry about your family... truly.
A lot of local hospitals have a day clinic where you can check yourself in; we have a day centre but the local hospitals may have an emergency clinic. Or you could arrange to see the nurse at the doctors tomorrow. It must have been a shock and I hope you feel better soon.
and why weren't you taken to hospital when it happened to be checked over? surely the lady would have called for help if you had been hit?
Ask your parents if they will take you to the hospital. You could ask the parents of a friend to take you.If your over 16 you can visit your GP on your own.Phone NHS DIRECT on 0845 46 47...they will give you advice.Good luck
A.D.
You should call a cab and go to your local A%26E. You could have done some damage to your hip or back which is why it is hurting. If you can move about okay it's not likely to be serious, but you should get it checked out anyway. If you are feeling drowsy you mught be concussed, and your wounds should be cleaned up properly.I'm sorry your family don't seem to care, any responsible parent would have taken you to the hospital themselves straight away.
It doesn't sound like you need to go to the hosptial. It sounds like you're being a spoiled little girl. Get a life, and look where you're going when you cross the road.
The question is how old are you and do your parents have medical insurance for you. The lady that hit you should have talked with your parents and made a police report because her insurance should pay for your hospital exam if you would have to go. You should have your Dr. check you first and he could give you a prescription for an x-ray if he thinks you need one. It would be very wise for you to go and get an x-ray to make sure you don't have any fractures. If you just go to the Emergency room it will cost quite a lot more money unless you have good insurance. Talk to your parents and tell them that if they don't want to help you and you are in such pain that you will call a policeman and talk to him and ask him what he thinks about the accident. I'm sure if they are being negligent that will get their attention! You could have internal injuries and not know it for hours Good Luck. I hope you have the name and phone no and liscense plate number of the lady that hit you.
you have got to call an ambulance now! it wont matter what anyone including your parents think if your die...get help now deal with everything else later!
1] did you actually hit your head? Are there any scrapes or bruises on your head? Did you lose consciousness?Any symptoms besides drowsiness ? [ blurred vision, severe headache, nausea, iritability, confusion ]
2] do you have a witness? Did anyone get the license plate?
It is illegal to leave the scene of an accident involving ANY injury, whether she was at fault or not.
3] you cannot sleep off a concussion, nor can you be cured of it with pain relievers. You MUST see a doctor.
4] get a friend or parent of a friend to take you, if parents refuse. How old are you? They have to provide medical care if you are under 18.
5] if you feel well enough, shower with lots of soap and water on all those scrapes, and scrub all the grit etc. out. I have seen nasty infections from scrapes on roads, parking lots, etc.
boy do u need help u must have a friend u can call and u must go to hospital get there somehow please go asap
i just hope your OK hunni you should have reported the car for not stopping but i suppose that's the last thing u think of at that time just make sure you see your doctor and get the help and support you need /try a hot water bottle or flannel on your back take some aspirin and just rest well and if you want to go to hospital get a taxi and forward the bill to your parents house x
i've been dragged by a car going 20mph (and had my foot run over). i was bloody and sore for about a week, but advil and guaze fixed it.
u best tape your head on to your neck in case it falls off

I got rope burn on my foot yesterday?

Yesterday I fell trying to catch a frisbee and tripped over a volleyball net and got rope burn on the top of my foot. I've had it for two days and it still stings and oozes a little, and feels sore 24/7. I was just wondering, how should I treat it?
Answer:
Clean the wound with warm soapy water. Dry with a clean towel. Apply an antibiotic ointment like neosporin to it and cover with a dry sterile bandage. If you are going to wear shoes, you might want to make the bandage thicker to pad the wound from your shoe straps.
I suggest foot cream
Add relieving lotion to it that will cool it down and make it feel better it will also reduce the redness. You can get the lotion at any pharmacy!
Hope it Helps%26lt;3
It may sound silly but any time I get open wounds I use hydrogen peroxide. About 20%vol works fine, but it has to say on the bottle 'for medical use'. Or else just use an ointment with cortisone if it's not an open wound. I'm no doctor but an accident pro and I'm speaking of experience!
try a healer like polisporin

I got my upper ear pierced&it's really swollen& painful after i took it off and put it back.what shld i do?

agot my upper ear pierced and after 4 days it's doing ok..not much pain only when it got bumped or sumthing..but on the 5th day i took it off and cleaned my ear and the earring with alcohol and then it got so painful and swollen now..it's been like this for 2 days now but it's not that painful bow but is still swollen. there's also NO pus coming out. should i leave the earring in my ear or take it off and let it heal first then have it re-peirced some other time?.i take Advil to relieve the pain and put on some hot compress 2x a day to minimize the sweeling...
Answer:
Piercings through cartlidge often develop small lumps on them. I believe they're called Keloids. I had the same problem with the industrial piercing in my upper ear and 2 out of the 3 times I got my nose pierced. Taking the earring out so soon probably didn't help as you aggravated it while it was healing. You shouldn't have to take the jewellry out to clean the piercing, you can do it with the jewellry still in. Put some hot water on a cotton wool ball and use it as a compress on the affected area, that should help.Cartlidge piercings can take a long time to heal. My industrial in the top of my ear took at least 6 months. I go to a very reputable piercing studio and the guy that did it said it's perfectly normal. Just clean it at least twice a day and try not to knock ot around too much or sleep on that side. It's unlikely that it's an infection. Piercings often leak a clear-ish fluid known as lymph that dries as a transparent yellow-ish crust. This is normal and is part of the healing process. It cleans off easily. Just make sure it's not leaking pus or anything like that. That would be a sign of an infection. On another note, alcohol probably isn't the best thing to clean it with and probably didn't help the situation. I've always been told to use salt water. Use sea salt not table salt, too. Be gentle when you're cleaning it too. If it's a ring you have in, rotate it so you get the whole thing clean. If you'r still not sure you could always go back and see your piercer, they should be able to help you out.Hope that helps.PS You should check out this link too. It tells you pretty much everything you need to know about piercing aftercare: http://www.safepiercing.org/bodyaftercar...
Take the earring out, leave it out. There is an infection or something going on. If it doesn't get better in a few days. please see your dr. about it. Take care.
it was way to soon to take it out it probably got infected, you need to wait for it to close next time dont take it out so soon you're suppoed to wait like a month atleast
Hey - I ahve had my ear pierced up there 3 times I think, it got infected everytime. And everytime I took the earring out and put it back in that's about the time it got infected. If I were you I would take it out and if you want to try to pierce it again later. Just remember if you do pierce it again, don't take the earring out for a couple of weeks at least. Just clean it good in you ear. It's prbably infected and if it's swelling it could go over the earring. Just take it out to be safe.
i just got mine pierced in february! youre supposed to leave it in for 12 weeks. dont even take it out to clean it, as youve discovered ;] i took my out even AFTER the recomended time and it hurt. i left it out for a day and it started to close up, so know that if you take it out it wont be long before you cant get it back in! you should probably see the person who pierced it or go to a doctor. i hope you get feelin better!
Leave the earring in and just dab it with a cotton ball and alchol, also use an ice pack to lower the swelling, if you start to feel it getting warm and ***** then go to your dr. Good luck.

I got my tounge split like a snake and it burns like hell..?

I went back to the doctor that did it for me and he said it wasnt infected.. but the edges turned black and it burns when i talk i seroiusly dont think thats right so uhmm whats wrong with it would you say
Answer:
It sounds more than just an average infection.
Black skin and tissue is narcrotic which means dead or pretty close to it.It may not 'look' infected and your body may not be showing signs of it, but that is not a good sign. This 'Doctor' is having second thoughts about what he's done and now not taking any responsibility. You need to go to the ER as soon as possible for an examination and treatment.Having such a sore tongue will also cause problems drinking and you can become very dehydrated extremely quickly.I have seen a man come into Theatre with black toes for no reason they could find and woke up with them gone..Please seek medical help urgently but not that dumb nong of a Doctor.
Well, that's what happens when you do silly things!
go gothic !
You got an infection and the doc you went to is a dumbass.
I haven't even seen your tongue and I can tell you its infected. Go to the hospital now man. If you don't you are going to lose your tongue.
ur an idiot gargle with peroxide
When living tissue is turning black, it means that the tissue is dying, give your doc a call, and tell him about this turn. the burning may also be due to what you are drinking, stay away from overly salty or acidic foods/drinks until your tongue has had a chance to heal.
but if you are overly worried about infection, and to definately help stave off infection, and if you have a high pain threshold, gargle listerine over it, and it will kill the bacteria that is in there.
dude that is fuckin siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii... (the good sick)! uh, I dont have any adivce but **** yeah! way to be a freak! im getting a dope face tat this summer!
I agree with the above answers expescially Wendy. Get a second opinion- or go the the ER immediatly. Wouldnt want to end up with a split tounge and the tip died and tell off. That would look sick (in the bad way lol) Either way badass for getting it down and u gotta lucky g/f!! Good luck, I hope you can figure out the problem and get it fixed.

I got my nosed pierced. How do I slow down bleeding of my nose like 2 days later?

I got my nosed pierced two days ago and if i touch it AT ALL it will bleed alot and im not a nose bleeder at all. And i have to go to soccer and i dont want it to be bleeding all over the place. What can I do to slow or stop the bleeding?
Answer:
If it starts to bleed try placing ice indirectly on the area. This will constrict the blood vessels a slow or stop the bleeding. If you are having any pain do not take asprin or ibuprophen. They will both thin your blood and promote more bleeding.
better see a doctor
I prefer tattoos!!
Sometimes when you puncture the skin (to put various nuts/bolts/hardware in your body) it bleeds. I might recommend you go see a doctor. You may need to double-check to see if you have an infection that *could* lead to you losing your nose or worse.Take out the nose ring (which is ugly, anyway, but none of your friends will tell you that) and put some Neosporin and band-aid over the hole
If it still bleeds after 2 days, the piercer did a bad job. Sounds like he pierced through a vein. If you don't want to go to the doctor, go back to the piercer. He's probably had to deal with this stuff before.
I does not sound like it is infected.

I got my nose pierced about a month ago and I dont know how to change it out. help! (its a screw)?

Answer:
If it's only a month old you may not want to try to change it just yet. They usually take a couple of months to heal. They take longer than ears. If you take it out too soon you may not be able to put it back in. Only do it if you're sure it has healed. If you are sure then try to bend back your nostril first to see the shape of the ring before trying anything. Once you get a look to learn exactly what the shape is and how it's put in, pull the ring up by the ball and then bend it over so that the ball and stem are basically laying flat against your nose. You may have to try bending it a few directions before you find the right one. When you have it in the right direction it should easily slide so that the ball and stem laying flat against your nose. Once you have it laying flat against your nose if you look in your nostril the rest of the srew part should look like an unfinished circle inside your nose.
Then slowly pull it out while gently curving it or almost like you are rolling it along the curve of the screw, and off the front or side of your nose (depending on where it is located). Good luck.
they are the ones that stay in ,aren't they!!
look in a mirror and turn your nostril a little inside out ,with the other hand can unscrew it.
you just need a little practice.

I got my ears pierced about a year ago and i recently changed my ear ring then theirs a bump what should i do?

my ear starts to hurt that's when i noticed that the bump was there many people told me to put a warm rag on the ear where the bump is formed at so it can go down but i feel as if thats not going to work because the bump is hard and i would want more opinions from other that have experienced this matter or knows anything cause i rather not go to a doctor im scared of needles and i would'nt want no needle touching my ear
Answer:
are you wearing fake earrings? Some people are allergic to anything that isn't real silver or real gold. Those bumps are a sign of infection so try different earrings and make sure you clean your ears really well
happens 2 me all the time when i buy new earing
mine just goes away on its own and its not that notice-able'
It might just be a small infection- I get those all the time. Sometimes there is little or no redness, just a bump and it hurts to have earings in for awhile. My solution, taking earing out for about a week- clean ears thouroughly each day, and most importantly CLEAN YOUR EARINGS BEFORE AND AFTER YOU TAKE THEM OUT. Hope that helps :]

I got my cartilage pierced but its gotten infected.do i have to take the earring out for it to get better?

I got my cartilage pierced like a couple of days ago prob. more and it has gotten infected not bad but its getting there is there ne thing i can do to get it better w/o letting it grow up??
Answer:
yes you need to take the earring out and clean the site - bacteria are killed by your body's immune system, but the bacteria can live on the metal surface out of reach and just keep spreading back to your ear - clean your ear and then clean the earring with alcohol or betadine. good luck and hopefully it doesn't close over.
yes leave the ring out and use cream based disinfect
yup, take it out or your ear will swell and develope a big boil looking bump... I had an earring in my top left , ooooh it hurt so bad, i took it out cleaned it with peroxide and never put that earring back in,,,, some peoples ears are more sensitve than others in that area
Sorry but, you have to take it out. It will feel better in hours! I had mine done and after 4 months it was still sensitive and then it got infected. I took the earring out and by the next day I could sleep on that side again and it was healing quickly. I got a bump in both sides of my ear and I can still feel it. Take it out so you can stop worrying about it! I know it looks cute but, you need to be healthy!
You should stop using the cleaner that the earing place gave you (if they did). It helped when my ears were infected, but I never used it again and used hydrogen peroxide, and its so much better.

I got my 2th ear peircing last week...?

And now the peircing on my left hurts like he lllllllll whenever I try to turn it or clean it. I think it's because it is too tight. The other one is fine.Should I try to take it out to make it looser, or would I not be able to get it back in after I took it out..?
Answer:
Whatever you do,don't take it out.
It will always be the problem ear.
I did this once, took out the earring, and eventually had to let it close,
cause it was always a problem putting the erring into the ear.
Turn it around,or loosen the back.
Just don't take it out.
It has to heal properly.
If its been awhile since you had it done take it out.If not clean it with and try to loosen it also. But it could be infected so it it gets swollen or real red with pus coming out you probaly need to call or see a doctor.Good luck
Take it out then go back and get a new one or just dont get one at all
do you have a fever? look at your peircing. is there any pus? you might have an infection. make sure you talk to your doctor to rule that out. :)

I got jumped (beat up) by six girls, i think i might have a concusion?

You need to go to the hospital immediately. Get off the computer and head to the hospital right away.
not sure =you should be in emergency to get x-rays done =hopefully nothing was crushed on your skull
It means you need to go the hospital as soon as possible.
Go to the hospital and be checked. This site is not to give advice on something as serious as this.
It means you need to see a Dr.
Get to the doctor it may be very serious

I got into a fight last year, and i got my knee hurt...How can i recover quicker during a fight?

I got into a fight with a kid last year,he was around my height.Ive always had problems with my knees and the rest of my body below my knee line.Im pretty healthy, not great looking,i dont eat that great but i am healthy.
What i really wanna know is,do you know a way to recover from a knee injury during a fight,so that i dont have to back down?
Answer:
Put your weight and stance on the OTHER knee. Use it as the pivot point for your swing. Work out on Nautilus equipment - it gives you a lot of support for weak joints- and strengthen that knee. You need it to walk as well as to fight.
As far as the other folks saying don't get into fights: He's a KID and it's possible that he's being harassed folks. If that's true kid go ahead and smack the **** out of those meanies. But don't start it yourself ok?
This is an easy one. Don't get into fights. It doesn't prove anything or settle anything. It only causes problems, either yours or someone elses.
don't get in fights it's not that hard
That was pretty sound advice from the other person about avoiding fights, but since you seem destined to continue this, I would say bandage up both knees very well, it seems to be your week spot. You can always surrender before going down. ever try that?

I got injured around the knee area. and my knee is swollen (fat) what are some ways to reduce the swollen knee

its fine in the morning but when i start walking on it later on it gets swollen. my knee is injured
Answer:
ice
Keep your leg elevated as much as possible and keep applying ice to it. Stay off of your feet as much as possible.
cold ice packs...make sure there's a barrier like a towel inbetween the skin and the ice. try to stay off it more, the more your agravate it the longer and harder it's going to be to have it heal...
The first thing you need to do is ICE. Ice on for 15 minutes, ice off for 15 minutes. Never apply heat to onset of injury for at least 72 hours. After 72 hours, you can alternate heat and ice. I find that frozen peas really conform to the injured area quite well and they work great!Stay off your knee and keep it elevated. Keep a pillow underneath it when you sleep if possible. Injuries will only get worse if you strain them more. The more you move, the more you'll tear the tissue surrounding the knee. Hope that helps:o)
http://www.lookgreat-loseweight-savemone...
RICE,..stands for ,,,,,rest..ice...compression.. ...elevation
also, take an aspirin or two.....
its going to sound weird.but it works. what you need to do is take vegetable oil (any one will do) and spread it on your knee.then get a wash cloth and put it under hot water...take the washcloth and place it on your knee.keep it on until it gets cold...place it under hot water again ( remember to drain it out)...repeat this for 1/2 hour..it should lower the swelling
ice it for about 15-30 minutes a day and then heat it if you want its your choice. Keep your knee above your heart as much as possible don't put any weight on it or do anything that causes it pain.Once the swelling goes down then if can if you want to try to walk on it but if it still hurts to walk I would stop or do not do it very often. But you still want to excercise it and stretch it or it will take longer to heal you have to feel pain before you feel relief hope I helped.

I got hurt playing basketball, should I go to the dentist or wait and see if it gets better?

this guy hit my in my chin 2 days ago, my mouth hurts less now, at first I couldn't 1 side but now I can, but I can't close it properly, and I can't chew food well either.
Answer:
Well, if I were you, I'd see a dentist. I once had a brick smash into my hip playing basketball, and I never went to a Doctor. To this day it still hurts a little to sleep on it's side :(
Go to your dentist and let him tell you what's up. It could possibly get worse and take longer to heal. Good luck to you.
i would go and see a dentist that way if something is wrong they can tell you..if not then your good and checked it out. good luck hope it gets better
call your dds as soon as possible, you might have fractured your jaw or displaced it. this is nothing to play around with. you need to have a panorex taken (x-ray), it will show your jaw and all of your teeth..it does not hurt and takes a couple of seconds. good luck to you
You should act like a man and stop being a pusssy (jk). Besides, you'll have bigger things to worry about when I send my army of fighting muskrats after you.

I got hit in my eye and i have a blood clog in my eye what can I do to get the red out?

Answer:
It will have to go away on its own. The body will absorb it.
Nothing, it will go away on it's own. You may want to call or see an eye doctor...if that would make you feel better.
Try rinsing it out with cold water for a few minutes, then it should return to normal.
Time will cure.but meantime let the eye 'rest' as much as possible...minimal reading, TV (and computer), etc., and keep out of strong sunlight.
And keep away from knuckle sandwiches!

I got elbowed pretty hard in the forehead - could I have a mild concussion?

I have a wicked headache ever since and my vision is a bit blurry. I guess one really can't do much about it afterward.
Answer:
The same thing once happened to my mom. She ended up in the hospital, there was only a 50/50 % survival. She pulled through, but the left side of her body doesn't work. My advice; GET IT CHECKED!
Any hit to any part of the head can cause a concussion, seek medical attention asap
Yes, it is very possible, DO NOT try to sleep, if you do you could go into a comma, unless your doctor says to, you should get medical attention, very soon!
Yes it is quite possible. You should go to the doctor. Also, see if your eyes respond to light, thats one of the best ways to tell, although, as I said, you should still go to the doc.
Signs of a concussion usually do include headache, blurred vision and even nausea or vomiting. It is always a good idea to have a doctor check you out after a head injury, especially if you are having problems. In reference to your last line, it's better safe than sorry, and you don't want to let something go to long.

I got drunk and knocked someone out but I don't remember.?

I kinda feel bad but he beat up my brother last month when he was drunk as well, what do I say to the guy when I see him. 2 of his buddies jumped on me and held me down until he woke up when he finally came to they all ran off.
Answer:
you are on a road to destruction . get off. your drinking is out of control. get some help before it is too late.
Rehab and soon before you get hurt, kill or hurt or kill someone.
Channel your energy into positive past time.. you could had very easily gone to jail or had the crap beaten out of you by his friends... you and your brother both are in a bad place.
Take a good look at the homeless drunks or drug addicts on the street.
You are headed that way with out a lifestyle change..fast
it ages you, and can caused alcohol dementia, heart problems, liver disorders, affects all the major organs of the body.
impairs judgment. contributes to depression.
One day you might have children. They listen to what you do not what you say.
Poverty.
drunk driving fines and court dates are expensive.
get some help before it is to late.
Be a victor not a victim. God bless take care.
Sometimes the truth hurts but it is love.
I am a mom, I don't know you but i care about you!
Don't throw your life away, it is the only one you have.
If you see him and he doesn't run the other direction, the least you can do is apologize. It sounds like you should probably give up drinking, since you have now beaten up two guys. Maybe get some help in that area.
That sucks was he your friend? Alot of things happen when you drink that you wish you could take back the next day. Most of which you can't if he is a buddy give him a call he is probably upset about the whole thing. I had a buddy of mine do this to me back in Feb. I have not heard from him since, I got to tell you it sucks. Give him a call, remember you hit him.
Nice alibi, but it will never stand up in court. Without an argument, the plantiff will easily get you. But if it's just your brother, maybe he won't sue.
Hi this kind of crap happens all the time when people are drunk, If this is a isolated thing I would say it will blow over and just say your sorry , If you dont remember things alot when you drink I would say STOP before you wake up in jail and dont remember, my guess would be he dont remember much either. But you have to realize if you would beat up your brother you might kill another.

I got burned with fireworks.?

we were shooting bottle rockets and a spark flew back and hit my right below my eye...there was a little black thing on my bottom eyelashes witch someone removed but it still hurts...i iced it and it didnt really help, i cleaned it with burn meds.still hurts...what do i do?
Answer:
if you're having trouble with your vision or it's the eye itself that's hurting (not the area around it like your cheekbone or temple) then i would report to the nearest emergency room. burns in the eyes can be very severe and you could suffer permanent vision damage or loss if not treated properly.if you just burned the outside of your eye (the skin below your bottom eyelash) then treat it and watch it closely for changes. burns are painful (even minor ones) and they will be for several days after the intial incident.-wash it well with cool water and mild soap
-apply a small amount of aloe vera gel (you can put it in the fridge before use-the coolness will help soothe the burning sensation)
-keep it covered with a bandaid to prevent germs from getting to it.once scabbed over-you can apply a thin layer of vitamin e oil to prevent scarring.signs of infection that require a trip to the dr within 24 hours are-increased redness or swelling to burn site
-the burn area is more painful or tender to touch
-the burn begins to drain liquid that is green or yellowish brown in color
-you begin to run a fever of 100.5 or higherhope you feel better soon!!
you should go to a doctor to get it checked.. if your not sure you need to
it can get infected or something
but just for your safety tell your parents
to take you to the doctor
take care!
You actually need to go to the emergency room as you may have burned your cornea..loss of eyesight etc. I would not wait go tonight...
You probably just burned it pretty bad. I've gotten burns from fuse pieces on my hands that have hurt for about a day. Sometimes they burn deep, and you feel it. Others aren't as bad and the pain goes away fairly soon. If your eye is hurting then you should def. see a doctor, but if it's just the skin, then you'll be fine. It will heal up (to where it dosen't hurt) in a day.

I got braces and my teeth really hurt. What should I take to help the pain?

This is the second time I got braces. Recently, I got only my top braces on, and didn't get the bottom ones on until today. I've been taking Ibeprofen and it is NOT HELPING! I was thinking maybe Advil Liquid gels?? I'm open for any suggestions! P.S. I'm only 14 so nothing too strong. Thanks so much for all who help. I just want to eat again!
Answer:
***if u r in serious pain use advil or tylenol but dont over do it.
my friend just got braces last week and overdid it with the advil and fainted first day or 2 ur teeth may be a little sensitive so stick with eating soup, pasta, ice cream, milkshakes, bananas, jello, pudding, beans, toast-soft foods***avoid straws!every night use Peroxyl mouthwash for like a week to keep ur gums storng from cuts and use dental wax and rubber coverups so u wont get blisters, they hurt a little but arent that bad. avoid sleeping on ur side, try to keep ur head straight up for a couple of daysevery morning and every night use the Peroxyl mouthwash again for 2 weeks then after that just use ACT mouthwash to keep ur teeth and gum s healthy. get some Super floss, made for braces-i sugest elictrical toothbrushes they keep ur mouth cleanerdont worry-trust me- i have had my braces on for almost 4 years, i am gettin em off on July 3-my friend says it acutally hurts more to get em off so yea-Nati
yeah, its normal for ur teeth to hurt after braces, but after like a week, it will start to get better and ull be able to eat. yeah, just take advil and tough it out. ^^good luck, from a friend who had braces too
Try Excedrin. It's a mixture of acetaminophen, aspirin, and caffeine.Cold works too. Ice, Ice Water, Ice Cream, etc.
All you can do besides advil is just tough it out. I know, it sucks, but after a few days the pain will calm down and you will be able eat solids again. Believe the straight teeth will be worth your wait. ;)
My friend once said that taking soluble aspirin helped him a lot. What he do: He took two aspirin and let it rest in his mouth for a few seconds and swallow it. I know it tastes awful but if it helped him, I'm sure you would do anything for the pain.Hope this helps you too.
A couple of benidryl does the trick ;D I had the same problem. It get's better, too. May I suggest eating mashed potatoes for a while %26lt;3
Advil is always a sure bet... any time you get them tightened or get new rubberbands (or actually use them), make sure to take some because those rubberbands will definitely cause pain. It ain't that bad... I had braces for 5 years- so wear those rubberbands, cuz I didn't for about 3 and thats why I had them so long. Gewd lawk
have your parents call the orthodontist so that you can get something stronger. the doctor will be available 24/7.
Advil works great but try chewing sugarless gum it hurst for a little bit but them it won't hurt any more after the gum get softer and it somehow lostens up and makes it easier to chew harder food also try gargling salt water (i don't know why but it works)
Marijuana.

I got bit?

I got bit by something. It's red around it then white, then there's the actual bite. What do you think it is. It happened in the pool.
Answer:
Did it hurt when it bit you? If not, it isn't a bee/wasp/hornet.
If it was, scrape the stinger out with a credit card [ pulling it out with tweezers actually injects more venom ].
Wash with soap and water, rinse well, and check it frequently.
If it spreads or swells rapidly, go to urgent care.
Otherwise, put antibiotic ointment and a bandaid over it.
Check it frequently tomorrow, too; and go to the doc if it looks worse.
[ My guess - spider bite: they don't hurt until later, and they turn lovely colors ].
Could be a spider or snake, go to the Dr.
it was me
It may have been a water spider or bug of some sort. Best Bet- See a doctor!
It could be anything. Keep an eye on it--if it looks like a bulls-eye or you run a fever, call your doctor.
It sounds like a tick bite
probably a fire ant or some other pinching ant.
Maybe a wasp, or bee floating in the water. Try applying ice and put some ointment on it. If it gets worst within an hour after the bite, go to Urgent Care.
Sounds like a spider or a wasp, I suggest you try cleaning it out immediately, scrap the stinger if a wasp, put some ice on it to ease the swelling, then going to the doctor if it gets worse!
ouch. it was probably a wasp, but if it's huge, it may be a hornet. put ice on it, and if you see a stinger, try to scrape it away with a stiff piece of paper. DO NOT USE TWEEZERS! they can end up squeezing more of the poison into your body than there already is. when i say poison tho, don't panic. the stuff just makes the bite mark swell and get really sore. after icing, put calamine lotion on it, and that will take away the sting. good luck, the same thing has happened to me!!
dont know try putting cortizone on it
it sounds like you got stung by a bee. lol. I think you would have known had you been bitten by a snake, seeing as their big and everything. If it is a bee sting, you can mix equal parts baking soda, and water together, into a paste and put it on the sting. That will take the burning away. Keep an eye on it though, some people are allergic to bee stings. It could also be a spider bite, though the way you describe it, sounds like a bee sting to me.
Go to the doctor it could be a bad diese.

I got bit!?

My boyfriend and I got alil' freaky in the woods if you know what I mean..and i got mosquito bites all over my hips and ******! he does to lol. help!
Answer:
Well at least you had fun first...wink! The best creme I've used is called "Aveeno" and it works wonders fast for stings and bites...feel better... ;)
Benadryl gel applied directly to the bites, or any other over the counter anti-itch cream will work.
AfterBite is ammonia based rub, it draws the itch out immediately, otherwise try straight ammonia on a cotton ball.
Any over-the-counter itch/bite cream will help you here, especially those with hydrocortisone.Lidocaine jelly also works very well. Taking a little diphenhydramine could keep some of the inflammation down. I would recommend taking a shower clean the skin and remove any potential irritants. In the future, you may want to bring a can of bug repellent.

I got bit by something and my knee really hurts now. It seems like the bite generates heat, too; what to do?

Answer:
I will answer as a nurse who has worked at an emergent care clinic.
Depending on how long you have had the bite, how large it is, and what you got bit by, I would reccommend you go to an emergent care clinic or your family physician's office.
If you just got the bite, it looks small, like a typical bug bite (pencil eraser size, mostly red) put hydrocortizone ointment on it and try your best not to scratch it.
If you have had the bite a couple days, it seems to be getting bigger, it looks like a large pimple it could be an MRSA infection that will need to be treated right away. These often resemble large bug bites and are VERY serious if left untreated (the infection can get into the blood and cause you to become septic, or it can devistate a nearby joint or bone). Please do not "pop" the bite if it has a white head, this will only spread the infection to other parts of your skin and your loved ones.
The bite is infected. See a doctor as it might be a bad spider bite. These can be serious. A bite should go away in 1 day, if you've had it longer ~ see a doctor ASAP
Go to the Doctor, it maybe infected.
I would watch the bite mark. was it a spider or do u know? If it starts to form a pimple then u see it gettin dark its a brown recluse and those kill tissue u will need to go to a Dr and get it cleaned out and put on antibiotics. I have seen people get fingers amputated cause of them. good Luck
I had something like that. I thought I had a spider bite, it looked kind of like a mosquito bite. But over the course of a day it got more swollen, red and hard. It started to hurt, and the pain got much worse. It was also hot to the touch. Eventually I got a fever. Thats when I called my Dr. He told me to come in right away. I thought it was just an infected spider bite. All of those symptoms are signs of infection. But as another answer said, it was MRSA. Its a Staph infection that causes an abcess. I had to have it cut open and drained and get a shot of antibiotics. It was really bad, and it may not have been so bad if I had gone to the doctor a day earlier. You should go to the Dr.

I got bit by a snake...?

i got bit by a water moccasin and i know there posinous but nothing happend, no swelling, no pain (except the bite, that hurt) or anything?
Answer:
Either you were lucky (about 40% of all people bitten by venomous snakes are not injected with venom) or you were not bitten by a water moccasin. My guess is you were mistaken as to the snake that bit you. Are your bite marks two neat pinhole punctures or more elongated? The former would indicate a water moccasin, the latter some other type of snake.
http://www.edkuniversity.com/bite.html...I would go get help if I was you... you might not feel anything now, but the toxins in your body could cause damage later.
Go see a doctor immediately, or even better: contact Poison Control Center.
.you would know by now if it was poisonous.
Don't take a chance. See a doctor. This is your life.

I got a sunburn yesterday its very painful is it o.k to go in the evening sun?

is more sun bad for my sunburn
Answer:
Sunburn puts you at risk for skin cancer in a few years. To go out in the sun again while you are burned is insanity. It would be painful in the short run and very, very harmful in the long run. Take some aspirin, which helps lessen the effects of sunburn and put aloe on your burn. Next time use a sunscreen. Ever see someone who has had skin cancer cut off? They are not pretty scars.
What the HELL is evening Sun? Yes it is bad to go back in the Sun with a bad Sunburn are you a RETARD? Have you ever heard of Suncreen? Do you live in a Bubble?
Will most likly feel uncomfortable. Get pure Aloe Jell and coat the area, well. Absorbed by the skin, cools the burn. Natures remedy.,
there's actually a new medicine lotion stuff out for sunburn. It's called Cool Aloe I.C.E by Hawaiian tropic. It's kind of a blue green color and has bubbles and looks kind of like hairgel (i had to put it on my poor boyfriend last week because he skipped the sunscreen and got burned really bad at work and looked like Lobster Boy). But if you can't find that, perhaps you could use ice or some kind of cold cream (i used to use Noxema) or something with Aloe on your burn and then wear A LOT of sunblock next time you go outside.
wear a spf 50 to protect yourself an vinager will take out the sting an make you smell funny
GREETINGS, the evening sun is just as potent and capable of a burn as afternoon or morning. It's not ok to go in the sun unless you want sun poisoning or a 2nd degree burn and going to the hospital. Swimming is ok in the shade. I would use sunscreen in the future, with a burn already you are more at risk for skin cancer as the upper layer of skin is already damaged. ICE is an aloe, lidocaine product sold by most places (Walmart, drugstores), it will help ease the pain.

I got a sunburn on my face and today Its completely swollen, is there anything I can use to heel it ?

Can you recamend something to put on it? Besides ice?
Answer:
If you have swelling, you have toxins in your body from the burn. It's important to drink lots of water to wash the toxins out. You need to drink a coffee-mug size amount of water every hour. You should see results in 18-24 hours.Take Ibuprofen (Advil or Motrin) every four hours. You can also put aloe vera gel on it, look for an ingredient that ends in "caine" such as Lidocaine or Benzocaine. It will help relieve the soreness.Good luck!
take some ibuprofen (motrin/advil) to help with the swelling. aloe may soothe the burn (places like whole foods sell aloe with out alcohol in it) stay out of the sun! and wait it out...
noxema works pretty well on sunburn
Aloe vera (a plant if you have it) or lotion should take out the sting, swelling, and heal it pretty fast.
Aspirin will help the swelling as will aloe and taking vitamin E supplements will help the process along and they're cheap and easy to find at your pharmacy
LOL, time heals all things.
go get aloe Vera and put it all over Ur face
i got sunburned once and it hurts huh?
i got some aloe Vera to put on my face and it healed in 4 days!
i still put on aloe Vera because the aloe Vera makes my skin soft and smooth!
well good luck to ya!
I truly would not mess around with blisters, you could have serious third degree burns, so be careful not to avoid medical help early. This method may not help to heal, but it sure helps take out the heat. It stinks a bit, but I found great results. Try 3 parts cold (ice cold if you can stand it) water, 1 part vinegar, moisten a soft cloth and lay it over the burned area. When your cloth gets warm, wet it again, repeat until the V/water is not cold enough to help draw out the heat. I also keep aloe Vera gel in the fridge.
Ouch! Okay, your first goal is to calm down the swelling and cool the skin down. Take Ibuprofin. That will help the discomfort and swelling. Now, when you burn the skin continues to stay warm. I like to hop in the shower and turn on cool water for a few minutes. You should also definitely ice, covered in a small towel, or wet a towel wring it out and place it in the freezer for twenty minutes or so. Apply regularly every half hour. Aloe is great, too! It helps heal and cool the skin. Glob it on and stand in front of a fan. Even better if its in the fridge. It will be about a few days or so until you are healed. And just a few days it will tan and then peel. Let it peel off naturally, you can scar if you pick it off. I don't know what you use on your skin but be sure not use anything with retinol, salicylic, glycolic, or lactic acids. No masks, or enzyme masks, no scrubs. Cetaphil cleanser is great. Or just use something that wont irritate your skin. Be gentle. Good luck!

I got a sunburn my skin feels hot but then I get these tingling chill feelings too?

I'm using aloe vera rub,
does the chills mean I'm cold or hot, I'm indoors, its night, should I put on more layers or less layers?
Answer:
sounds like sun poisonUse aloe vera or noxema, take some advil or the like, not tylenol... and try to rest...watch for blisters/freckles...
thats called sunburn.
thats what happens. use aloe vera gel it should help wit the burns
your body is trying to cool itself off. if you can take regular Bayer (or generic) aspirin, take two and drink lots of water. not enough water to make you sick, but to keep your body hydrated. if you feel comfortable sleeping naked with a sheet on top of you do so. good idea to keep the aloe on the skin. good luck

I got a stung by a yellow jacket on the wrist and its swelling pretty bad need to know what to about his issue

i already took some benadryl so what about the swelling!!
Answer:
go to the hospital and get an anaphylactic shot. I got stung when i was little and i had to get a shot.
continue taking the Benedryl as directed. apply Benedryl cream to the site. if the swelling persists or worsens, go to an urgent care.
GO TO THE DR! YOU COULD GO INTO SHOCK OR SOMETHING
had the same thing happen to me last summer, its not very fun... mine got to be about 3 tiimes the size it should.. benadryl is good, keep ice on it for the swelling, and try when you sleep, or are laying down, try to keep your arm elevated.. if you dont have trouble breathiing, and the swelling stays pretty localized, you will be fine, however if you do have trouble breathing, seek medical attention
The swelling is your body's natural defense system. Get some ice on it and get some rest the swelling will subside. Unless you are allergic to them, that could be lethal.
GO TO THE DOCTOR OR THE HOSPITAL TO GET A MEDICINE/CREME! YOU CAN USE NEOSPORIN AND BACITRACIN!put ice on it and rest!
Some people are allergic to the toxin. Play it safe and go to the ER. While rare, people have trouble breathing and sometimes die.
the benadryl should help. give it 30 mins, if your wrist doesn't improve or gets worse then go to walk-in or ER. also use ice to help constrict the blood vessels to help reduce the swelling.
take a knife and scrape the stinger out-it will keep injecting toxins -visit your local ambulance service-they will treat you -with anti-beesting medication-or get to the hospital -beware of anaphylactic reaction
You may be having an allergic reaction. If you think it is just typical swelling and you don't have shortness of breath or other symptoms that are not normal, try putting ice on it. Also, wet tobacco helps to take the sting and swelling out. Look to see if the stinger is still in your wrist, If it is take a credit card and scrape the area until you remove the stinger. Then try all of the above. Benadryl anointment can help take the sting out too.
I always mix up some water with dirt and put the mud patty on the sting ,it only takes about five minutes and the pain goes away leave it on for ten to fifteen minutes to make sure the stinger is out.Works every time.
I got a email about this Tape a penny on it for 15 - 20 minutes then the swelling is suppose to go down...Good Luck
Try applying a little bit of ice. if that doesn't seem to take the swelling away go to the doctor or the ER if you have to. Swelling like that usually indicates a serious reaction to the bite/sting and if you let it go untreated it could lead to aniphilactic shock. The doctor will probably just give you a quick shot and some care instructions and set you on your way... granted an at ER it may take longer than it sounds. Good Luck.
Cut a raw white potato and place it on the sting and it will pull the poison out. And for swelling wet a paper towel and put meat tenderizer on the sting.
Wet tobacco out of a cigarette. Apply for about 15 minutes and then take a benedryl along with a topical hydrocortizone AKA anti-itch skin cream.
If the swelling gets bad enough you might want to go to the ER. If you have any trouble breathing I'd call 911.If the swelling gets past a certain point they may need to do something to keep the skin from rupturing. I react badly to stings as well. You also might want to talk to your doc about getting an Epi-Pen
Put some ice in a plastic zip lock bag then in a wet wash cloth ice it down. Have someone drive you to the hospital because if you are having an alergic reaction then the Dr. may order medication for you that you may not be able to drive on, and they always ask do you have a driver first. If not, that may prolong your stay. My husband who is in the military is alergic to bee and wasp stings he has to carry a pre-filled siringe and they taught him to give himself an emergency injection (Not the same as a regular injection) You need to to be careful this could be life threating.
Same thing happened to me last summer, except I got stung by a carpenter bee... depending on how much your wrist is swelling, you might be allergic to stings. If it gets so swelled that you're *really* worried about it, go see a doctor. For now, keep taking the Benadryl. To keep the swelling down, apply an ice pack for ten minutes, then tightly wrap an ace bandage (you know, those stretchy cloth ones) around your wrist for half an hour. Repeat this a few times (ice, then wrap). If it's still pretty swelled when you go to sleep, keep the bandage wrapped around it as you sleep (remember to keep it wrapped tightly, but not so tightly that you cut off blood flow!). If you need to go out (to the grocery store or something), keep the bandage on. Using this process, the swelling should go down and be completely gone within a few days. And as a few other people already said - if you have any trouble breathing, call 911!

I got a small drop of super glue in my eye what is the best treatment for that?

Answer:
Eyelid
In the event that eyelids are stuck together or bonded to the eyeball, wash thoroughly with warm water and apply a gauze patch. The eye will open without further action within 1-4 days. To our knowledge there has never been a documented case of adhesive in the eye causing permanent damage. Do not try to force eyes open.Eyeball
The adhesive will attach itself to the eye protein and will disassociate from it over time, usually within several hours. Periods of weeping and double vision may be experienced until clearance is achieved. Use of a warmed 3% sodium bicarbonate solution to wash eyes repeatedly may assist in aiding more rapid removal of the adhesive.
Flush with tap water now while a friend calls poision control. Continue to flush your eye until you get further information
get straight to the ER. This is your eye,it is not something to muck around with. GO NOW
The ER! Flush with water until you get there. Good luck.btw, how did glue get into your eye?
OMG TAKE YOUR INDEX FINGER AND THUMB AND PULL YOUR EYE OUT, WASH IT, THEN PLACE IT BACK IN WOW SUPER GLUE!!....
P.S THAT鈥橲 IF IT鈥橲 A GLASS EYE OF COURSE

I got a second degree burn on my left foot April 21,2007 and it itch REALLY bad.what could stop the intense i?

I was making boilied eggs on april 21,07 and when I went to take the pot away the water spilled on my foot and it's almost completely healed up, but now I have this Very irritating itch that won't go away. what kinda lotion, creme, or anything could I use?outta ALL the products out there. I've tried putting lotion on it but it does not help.and this is REALLY IRRITATING the hell outtta me and it won't go away-so someone please help me and FAST.
Answer:
well second degree burns are notorious for there after effects. for the itching, the only thing i would suggest if the burn is pretty much well healed, you can try hydrocortison cream, but thats pretty much it. sorry.
Good luck! : )
hmmm ice works for me sometimes, its funny april 21 is my brithday i guess it was a bad day because it was bad for me to. sorry that happend.
You must have had a second degree burn. By this time it should have healed. It's over ten weeks ago. The itch may be coming from the top layer of the new skin. Suggest you leave nature to do its job. Use some aloe vera or similar and maybe a cool saline bath. If the itching persists I suggest you have a work with a dermatologist.
Use Claramile Lotion and apply it directly to the place that it itches.
cold water is the best first aid when you burn yourself - 20 minutes under the tap is ideal. NEVER ice or vinegar or milk or butter or mustard or toothpaste or sunscreen or semen or vaseline or tomatoes or vanilla extract or yogurt or sour cream or egg white or lavender oil or cocoa butter or salt or tea or potato or shaving cream- not until the skin is fully healed! ignore anyone who advises any of these!i would advise that you cover the burnt area with sterile paraffin wax or aqueous cream bp. (check the links below and see if you can find a local equivalent)cover the burnt area in paraffin wax after cleaning and removing any burst blisters - these are just sites of infection and will take longer to heal. wash and reapply every 4-6 hours - cover with cling wrap if you wish to cover with clothes - this will stop your clothes getting covered with paraffin and maintains the burn.cling wrap alone is ok if you can't get hold of any paraffin. it also acts as a protective artificial skin - helping retain moisture and protect from further damage and pain. cling wrap is cheap and clean off the roll. in Australia ambulances often use this when someone has been burnt. - please note that cling wrap isn't always practical, like on your face.paraffin creates a seal stopping water leaving the body and reduces pain as it protects sensitised nerves. the paraffin imitates the natural oils secreted by the skin. skin cells are better able to multiply and regenerate with this treatment. pain is also helped. make sure you buy plenty of this paraffin - as the burn heals switch to aqueous cream bp.(aqueous cream has a bunch of paraffin in it plus some moisturisers - look out for stuff that also contains sorbolene or glycerine as these help also). following this regime definitely will help your sunburn heal faster and peel less. aloe is good coz it remoisturises but that moisture can be quickly lost as the skin can't contain fluids- this is a function of healthy skin.so put aloe on, and then the paraffin on over the top as long as there is no broken skin this works great. if there is broken skin leave out the aloe - just paraffin.long term treatment to prevent scarring or loss of function due to contractures(as skin heals it can tighten reducing how much you can move - a skin graft is necessary to repair this). daily moisturiser, daily stretches - talk to a physio, pressure bandages like tubigrip, massaging the scar. this all reduce/flatten the scar and minimise the need for further treatment/surgery. http://www.doorone.com.au/xgs-aqueous_cr...http://www.pharmacyonline.com.au/david-c...hope this helps - let me know how you go and what similar brands/alternatives are available in your area email if you still have questions - send photos feedingthedogcustard@hotmail.c...finally if you are really worried go to a hospital that has a burns unit or plastic surgeons.
