It was in my left calf muscle and my muscle still hurts. Been hurting all day. Do you think it could have done any damage? Should I see a doctor?
Answer:
Have you tried stretching? I have gotten a lot of those spasms, always during the night, and they do hurt for more than one day sometimes. I find that stretching helps, and I also eat foods with potassium in them, like bananas, when I am having issues with that. They seem to help them stop, and if I am sure to eat them several times a week, they prevent the spasms.
I've done that a million times. More as I get older... maybe you're at the age when it starts... I started having that around my mid 20's.
try rubbing some icy hot on it, soak in a hot tub or hot bath for a bit and try streching it out gently. I get them a lot, and they usually go away on their own with icy hot and gentle streching after a couple days and the first day is the hardest. If it doesn't get better within 2 days, I'd see a doc about it.
Ouch, I hate those... I had 1 that bad before. It stopped hurting after a couple days. Just a muscle strain. If its still really bad after a few days though, you might want to think about seeing a doctor.
You are low on Potassium. A good thing to eat is Bananas. The have a lot of potassium in them. I
I've heard that when you get those, it might be because of a lack of potassium. Try eating more bananas or taking a supplement. I wouldn't worry too much about the pain. Sometimes those can be very painful. I know that I've had a few actually wake me up out of a deep sleep. If the pain persists after a day, you might want to call your doctor, but I doubt that it will. Hope this helps you. :)
You probably need Vitamin B6.A Yahoo search for "restless leg syndrome" + "Vitamin B6" should tell you much more.
