I can barely walk...help!?

About two months ago I was at the gym and turned around to walk away and something in the top of my foot popped. It hurt but I thought that I just twisted it a little and went on with my workout. I worked out many times since then and the pain spread from my ankle to my outter knee. The pain now radiates throughout my thigh, knee, shin, ankle and foot. I have tried ice, heat, elevation, alieve and staying off of it (for the past week) but nothing helps the pain. It's a dull burning pain that sometimes shoots up and down my leg. I can't bend my knee past a certain point and stairs are incredibly hard now (and I live on the 4th floor with no elevator...go figure). I have an appointment for an orthopedic surgeon but it's another 12 days away and I'm miserable. Anyone know what this could be and how to ease the pain until my appointment?
Answer:
You need to get into to see a doctor right away. You could have a broken bone(s), nerve damage, muscle and tenden damage. Not going when you first injured was not very smart, I hope you learned that lesson. So either see if you can get into see a doctor or go to the ER and get it X-rayed RIGHT AWAY! Waiting to see the Ortho is not a good idea. Since it's Sunday I would actually go to the ER Tonight.
FORGET ALL THE ANSWERS to put heat and ice on it, it's well past the stage of those helping GO TO THE ER you have procrastinated enough. Your leg and foot from your symptoms and radiating pain is seriously injured, now get off your PC and goooooooooooooo lol
wow that really sucks! maybe you should take a nice warm but hot bath? it'll probably help and feel really good for your pain or maybe go in a hot tub. i'm not sure what it is really, sorry but i hope you feel better! also it might help not to put anymore pressure on your leg because it can get hurt worse so stay off of it as much as you can. maybe get some crutches too. good luck!
Ice would have helped to begin with. But now, 2 months later, try moist heat. If you do not have a heat pad, then wet a two dish towels and heat them in the microwave for about 20-30 seconds and apply one to the area.
When it starts to cool down use the other towel, and reheat the other. This helps to keep the heat applied continuously.Take a tylenol like product, with food, as directed. and inbetween the tylenol, take an aspirin tablet.Or you can take something like Aleve.
Go to the hospital and get it checked out now. They can probably give you a brace and some pain medicine to tide you over till you see the ortho doc.
GET CRUTCHES STUPID!!!!!!!!
Wow. If it were me, I'd be popping Advils, icing it as much as possible, and staying off of it. Sounds like you messed yourself up pretty bad.
you could try soaking it in epsom salts the best you can... but it sounds like you might have snapped a tendon or something. If it was a broken bone, I don't think the pain would spread so much... but if you snapped a tendon the rest of your body may be hurting from trying to compensate for a tendon that isn't working. It could also be a pinched nerve, It may be pinched up well in one of your bone joints, and it's just relaying messages to your central nervous system saying "ouch" and now it has all those nerves saying that (that's a metaphor, but those nerves can be tricky).
Wow That sucks. Plus u have 2 wait almost 2 more weeks. I think Id go 2 the hospital. U mite b in there all day b4 the dr. sees u but u know what Peace of mind is everything. =)
Feel good.
