I damaged and bruised my toenail yesterday but im a runner...help!?

Ok i dropped a tray on my big toenail yesterday and it went a nice shade of blue! Now its killing me to even walk. The problem is, is that im a runner and very sporty. Ive gotta play badminton tonight and its killing me to even walk, how do i help myself to make it less painful and keep up with the running and general sports...Anyone got any ideas apart from the usual rest and elevation? Thanks
Answer:
I'd put a cold compress on it before and after, and probably wrap it up. Other than that try taking two asprin and a tylenol .. or a B.C Powder medicine thing, it's the same as the other I said. Other than that, don't be on it when you don't have to.
put it up , cold packs, and you really should take a week off sports, you dont have to do any of that stuff you know.
You could wrap it up in a tight bandage after covering it with a local anaesthetic. Then you won't get your runner on and, well, just play the game with the pain like a noble sporty people do.
You could apply ice for a good period of time, this should help.
Their really isn't much you can do.
I ref sport at an international level and I keep losing both big toe, toe nails. Painful but once you start moving around you will find that it won't bother you as much.
Goodluck with it.
