its a lil but red by da hole nd it itches alot!!
plz help!
Answer:
well, redness could be due to irritation too, not just infection, and just redness doesnt indicate infection, but in the off chance that it is, you can do a couple things, the most basic thing would be to rinse it with hydrogen peroxide, and cover it (make sure to keep it dry), for the itch your can try hydrocortisone cream (not on the piercing it self but around) other than that, if you get other signs of infection: fever, discharge, swelling etc, go into your doctors to get it checked okay? good luck! :D
wow.. i hope u are of age. Its not like you could tell with the spelling.
A lot of people will tell you to use sea salt but that will just dry it out. I would use antibacterial soap and wash it on the outside and in really really good about twice a day. Make sure to wash your hands before you touch it and try to keep it from rubbing on clothing. If it still doesnt clear up within about a week, go to the doctor (dont take it out! the piercing acts as a drain) because you dont want to get a staph infection.
Bactine works the best, that's what I had to use when mine got infected (all better now..that was 4 years ago!) Just put a little on a Q-tip and apply three times a day or as much as needed...you can also just pour it directly on...its good to keep the entire area clean. Good luck!
Do not touch it, unless it is completely wet. That's pretty much a rule of thumb for all piercings. The crust-like matter gets stuck to the ring, and when you touch it, it rips. That causes a lot of problems such as swelling, and infection.
When taking a shower, use Dial antibacterial soap. When you're cleaning it, make sure you are getting the soap down in the hole, and turning the ring.
When rinsing it, make sure you get all of the soap out. Also, use Bactine. It is really good when it comes to piercings.
Do not use Alcohol, or peroxide. These products do work well with infection, but it also kills the good cells that are growing to heal the hole.It normally takes 6-9 months for a belly button piercing to heal, if you're not up to taking care of it correctly, I suggest you take it out.
