Answer:
Hey Austin. Hard to diagnose with out knowing more about your age, work, finances - all the things that might keep you awake. When I was in my 20s, I had the same problem. An older, and very wise, friend said to me, "You're bored." That didn't make sense. I went to work every day, did laundry, got groceries. Later, however, I became more involved with friends, dating, and outdoor activities, in addition to everything I already did. My friend was right. I was bored with my routine and didn't even know it.
Ask your doctor. I take lorazepam 1mg, and since then I go to bed at 10:00 and sleep all night. Good Luck!
Try to exercise and keep busy during the day. This will get you tired and you'll fall asleep. Try not to use pills because in the long run, it's bad for you.
Exercise hard a few hours before you go to sleep, then wind down, Sometimes working hard mentally before you go to bed will help fall asleep faster. The are many other ways, but just thought you may want an alternative to ingesting something.
I often find that if I am struggling to get to sleep that if I put on a good film or pick up a good book, while trying to concentrate, I drop off!
I'm like this too.. but I'm wonderin, is you're days not so entertaining.. when night comes for me, I can't fall alseep becuz I just lay there and think.. man i'm soooo bored, I wanna go out, meet ppl.. do somethin? Are you the same.. if so maybe you should start finding ppl to hang out with and doin fun stuff.. IDK.. that's just me.. maybe I'm tottally off on this one!
I had the same problem for a while and i got a prescription drug called Trazadone and it knocks me out in like 10 minutes! I'm suppose to take it as needed but when I do take it, i usually only take half because it sometimes makes me drowsy in the morning. If u r going to get less than 8 hours of sleep that night, u should probably take only half the pill although, it depends how big the pill is. My pill has 50 milligrams in the whole pill so when I half it, it is 25 milligrams. Another pill that helps is melatonin(or however u spell it). It is not as strong and is chewable; but i still usually take only half of this pill so I'm not tired the next morning. I don't think the Melatonin is a prescription drug so you can buy it in the store without your doctors permission unlike the Trazadone. Hope I helped! Sweet Dreams!
Don't eat/drink to close to bed time.Use your bed for sleep not watching T.V. or reading.Turn off any stimulants ie:computer, T.V., etc...This may sound odd but get "Fisher- Price: Tender Lullabies" and listen to it. I had this CD for my child when he was younger, but I find it helpful sometimes to get to sleep and so have other adults. Also, if you haven't fallen asleep in 30 minutes or less just go ahead and get out of the bed, and try again later. Also, if your mind is racing (like mine does) get up write down whatever you are thinking, like what you have to do tomorrow %26 haven't completed today. Get it on the paper and out of your head. So you can relax.Sweet dreams.
Everybody has their own little tricks that they use that help them get to sleep. Some count sheep, others read a book, and others still may just play a game on their cell phone till they conk out. I have a couple of different things I try to help me sleep depending on how I feel.If I really need sleep have something important that I need to be alert for I take a melatonin tablet before bed, somtimes two. It is a natural hormone that regulates sleep. It helps me to fall alseep, or if you have insomnia you could also use it nightly to try to regulate your sleep patterns. Here is a link with some info if you want to read more on it: http://www.jigsawhealth.com/products/mel... I like it!Other nights if I am just rolling around and try to doze I try meditation or just relaxing and thinking back on the day I had. This is a great technique because it can help to clear your head of some of the thoughts that keep rolling around and keeping you awake. I also like to read a mag or book but sometimes I get to into it and end up staying up longer to read more. Also don't forget the benefit of a quick little workout. I f am rolling around and cant get to sleep I will go downstairs and try to do as many sit ups as I can and watch tv then mix in a few push ups or run in place for a while. Anything to get yo a little fatigued. I am by no means a super exerciser but I do as many as I can and I usually get tired enough to fall asleep fairly quickly.
try and try and counted from one to 1000 and agen
ambien and a warm glass of milk
