I can't get to sleep at night?

Here are the natural remedies I would recommend, as I always try to stay away from prescription meds (the side effects can be worse than the original symptoms and are not conducive to overall health).
Working out in the morning instead of late afternoon evening.
Late workouts can keep your adrenaline pumped and prevent sleep.
Taking a warm-hot shower before bed, calm s the nerves and soothes the body.
Reading a book makes the eyes heavy and leads to sleepiness.
Lavender essential oil inhalation is calming and relaxing.
The following herbs...can be purchased in whole leaf form or capsules at the health food store or drug store...
Vervain
Valerian Root
Skullcap
Chamomile
Or you can purchase "Sleepy Time Tea" from the grocery store. (contains the fore-mentioned ingredients).
None of these remedies are addictive or side effect causing.best wishes.sleep well ... :)
Don't drink caffeinated beverages after 3pm. Try a cup of warm milk or take a melatonin. Works for me every time.
try lunesta. but if you do not want to take medication, put your legs against a wall. relax, and drink warm liquids before bed.
Nyquil does good...
A sip of alchohol works...
A cardio workout (somthing that brings up your heartrate for about 20 minutes) would be the healthiest most efficient means.
Running, Playing a sport
maybe your too hot and sweaty? take a shower right before you go to bed and put a fan in your room.
Hi 螞拧脓岷忈粰脓魔! I used to have a real problem with that for about a year. Insomnia can have many causes, I think the best thing to do is see a doctor if it doesn't get better soon and get a medical opinion.
What helps me is excersing a lot during the day, or I know when I try to work on late night homework or read out of the textbook, I'm more likely to fall asleep no matter how hard I try to stay awake.
I tell myself im tired like an hour before i plan to go to bed.. ill start getting tired. When i dont fall asleep i stay in bed and try not to think of anything i suppose i bore myself to sleep but it usually works.
all these answers r good ones b/c there's can b many reasons y u can't sleep but to take something that would help u til u figure out what is going on. VALERIAN ROOT... it's natural %26 it's safe %26 it doesn't make ur groggy.U can find it any grocer/health food store/Walgreens..etc.. whereever they sell supplimentsmy hubby %26 i take it esp. when we can't sleep
