I cant fall asleep fast! help?!?

when i go to sleep i usually just watch some tv then start to turn away and close my eyes but alls i worry about when i close my eyes is is if going to go to sleep soon and i just worry and worry and sometimes i dont think about it then notice i was dozing off. it takes a long time to actually fall asleep. does anyone know a way to not worry about anything when im trying to fall asleep?!
Answer:
Lay on your back and concentrate on relaxing one piece of your body at a time starting with your feet. You will probably be asleep by the time you get to your arms.
And turn off the TV and Get off the computer!
dude me neither... lol
sorry about that but yeah dude usually i just turn on some really cold air
TV is very stimulating, and you will often find yourself restless if that or a ligh or computer is on in your bedroom as you try to sleep.Focus on something that has nothing to do with sleeping. If you're attempting to sleep, you might stress yourself out too much about it. Count backwards from 100, think about something like baking home made cookies and all the steps involved (you don't need to use that example, something similar), or sing song lyrics in your head. Anything to distract you from the fact you are trying to sleep. Also, some natural ways to sleep faster are to not watch TV at least an hour before you go to bed. Read a book, or a take a bath. Drink some herbal non-caffeinated tea.
1) Don't watch TV before sleeping. It gives your mind something to think about, especially if it is a new movie!2) Don't eat much before sleeping. Trust me, this is an important point. Typically I don't eat up to two hours before sleep, but sometimes if I wake up in the middle of the night, I have no idea why, but a little piece of Hersheys really helps put me back to sleep. I have no idea why, I would think chocolate would keep me up, but maybe it is just my weird case.3) Try to reduce noises if you can, and also make sure you are not too hot or too cold.4) I tried this one and it worked. typically I hate noises like clocks and such, they irritate the heck out of me, but I found out that fans work. Put a fan in your room on a low setting (you can face it away from you) because the constant low noise will help keep you from being distracted. When I heard this I thought, "What? A fan? That would be annoying!" but whereas before my mind would always be racing and I would always be thinking, the fan just sort of shut off my thoughts and I fell asleep really quick.
Melatonin. Purchase it at your health food store or in the vitamin supplement aisle.
It is a natural supplement and actually activates the chemical that regulates your sleep center. You shouldn't need to take it for more than a couple of days and your sleep pattern will return.Sweet Dreams--
